The Universal Club is from the inventor of the first air operated Tire Changer, Donald D. Moore, U.S. Pat. 2,962,065. Some of his other inventions include the SuperStick Adjustable Golf Club, U.S. Pat. 3,840,231, with over 100,000 sold and The Walkers Club, U.S.Pat. 5,538,245.
The SuperStick was the first Adjustable Club to incorporate the Moore principle of using matched teeth in an unmatched set to change the loft angle, (similar to vernier) the double step locking telescopic travel shaft and the head parts made from investment Stainless Steel castings. These principles are incorporated on all three adjustable clubs on the market today. As the patents expired on the SuperStick in 1992, another man from Ohio used these principles to develop a similar adjustable club. Moore then patented the Universal Club that was an improvement over both of the existing clubs. As improvements were made on the Walkers Club, the name was changed to The Universal Club. The new features include a machined flat putter face with 4 adjustable lofts, A Stainless Steel adjustable locking lever, large loft numbers on a ratcheting selector ring, and the lie angle was changed to automatically adjust for wedge and putter use. Also a lever was added that hides behind the shaft. The advantages the Universal Club are many. First of all is that you will develop a more consistent swing because of its same head weight, shaft length and shaft flex. The milled putter face with the correct lie angle and the head weight behind the ball is consistant with regular putters. A telescopic shaft that locks open and closed.
